Heh, I never thought to look at parts of words. I just figured it was some Native-Born-American Cultural Reference I was totally missing. Like why New York is the Big Apple. (Uh ... OK, whatever you say. Does it have worms?)

It's true, I was a geek even when I was a child and I first heard this joke. I added up all the fractions and objected -- that got you more than one complete item.
