wcg, Tommy Makem, the Bard of Armagh, was carried from this mortal coil by lung cancer last night at his home in Dover, New Hampshire.
"May he be half an hour in Heaven before the Devil knows he's dead!"
hrrunka just got back from the hospital, where he went to visit Peter Murray again this afternoon. He didn't get to see Peter this time.
Peter Murray, aka Gingerbear, Agniputra and other avatars, died at about ten past three today, British Summer Time (UTC+1), 1410Z. His sister Helen and her partner were with him at his bedside when he died.
We have lost our Gingerbear, and we are diminished.
Colonel Jeff Cooper died yesterday at his home, in the company of his wife Janelle and daughter Lindy. He was 86 years old.
He will be missed, as will his insightful (and often acerbic) commentaries, but the lessons he taught will live on.
