NRA Considered Harmful (to the cause of firearms rights)

As reported by unix_jedi, the NRA is once again working to kill a pro-gun bill because it's too pro-gun for them.  Yes, I said "once again"; it's not the first time.

The thing I can't decide about the NRA, on the basis of the evidence, is whether it's unable to win anything because it's too afraid of losing to actually take the chance of winning, or whether it actively doesn't want any unequivocal victories because it fears that if the battle to restore firearms rights is won, it'll be out of a job.

Agreed. The NRA needs a good coup. Neal Knox might be a good candidate.
