I just learned this morning that the past six weeks or so of physical therapy helped with general lower-back achiness, but did nothing for the real problem of my sacrum rotating into my hipbone and pinching my iliac nerve.  I was fine when I went to bed last night.  This morning I rolled over in bed and felt the familiar ball-peen-hammer sensation.  I've been walking around this morning as carefully as though I were walking on eggshells, because I know if I jar this wrong, it's going to HURT.

Update:

Then again, whether the PT helped with this specifically or not, this morning the iliac nerve pinch seems to have gradually eased once I got up and started moving around, and never progressed to the stabbing "Oh god I can't move" state.  So whether the PT was responsible or not, it looks like I dodged a bullet today.

Or as I call them, do-it-yourself torture? I've been doing at least part of my knee set every day this week, and getting significant relief.

Alas, it turns out that nothing short of surgery will help my hip, as there's a bit of impingement there. Grumph.

I do, and the therapy has noticeably helped with regard to general lower-back ache. This is a separate problem, though, and is basically not due to any lack of tone so much as the fact that because of my screwed-up left ankle, every step I take tries to wrench my back out of alignment.

Not really. He's got a lot of padding in the left shoe but it's not a complete solution. It's close to about 45%. The latest round of specialists have finally declared it is a bony block and they've offered a few suggestions on the fixing thereof.

hopefully they will be able to get it closer to 100% soon!!!!
