Sanity trumps beauty in the long run almost every time.  Unfortunately, sanity is rather harder to pre-screen for.

(OK, only partly random ... the thought was triggered by the lyrics of a Chris de Burgh song.)

Is sanity a good deal? It all depends on what you have to give up for sanity, doesn't it?

I think I'd have to file that under "your mileage may vary". I had about four, five months of chemically induced temporary insanity in 1993, Crazy Time, and it was living hell. It was the single most horrific experience of my life.
