Soon, now, we shall have medical insurance again. And when we do, I shall be seeking a referral to a specialist.
I'll also be looking into social security disability again. Nothing less than narcotic painkillers will keep me pain-free, but on narcotic painkillers I can't think clearly enough to do a desk job. I'm increasingly certain the fact that I'm obviously in constant pain is a significant factor in why I can't get a job. (Of course, no-one's going to say that in so many words.)
Well, the pain level sans painkillers isn't enough to stop me from getting a job done. I proved that at Ceva. The problem is convincing a prospective employer who doesn't already know that to give me a job. The only reason I got the Ceva job is because both of the people involved in making the decision were former co-workers from Cygnus. (Chris Baldwin was another releng who'd moved to MIS by the time I finally went to Cygnus, Christine was the comptroller.)
