As in, "Things Assorted."  (At least, that's what I was once told it translated to.  I'm not sure that's correct, because my understanding is that 'chop' translates to something like 'quickly', as in 'chopsticks' -> 'fii jii' -> 'quick sticks'.)

So, this evening's Things:

  • We stopped by the local Indian grocery store, from whom we procured such things as papadum, gram flour, gulabjamun, frozen poori, and tamarind chutney.
  • We found the Russian grocery in town, from whom we procured smetana and kefir.
  • And, I'm working on a new Callahan's Place photo page, since Donovan took his down something over a year ago now.  Long-term, I'll probably have to place it on co.ordinate.org, because Verizon, may their toenails rot and fall off, blocks incoming traffic to ports 80 and 443.
  • And oh yeah, my left foot hurts like fuck.  But that's no news.
  • Almost forgot ... we picked up a copy of Half-Blood Prince at Shaws for $12 off retail.

Oh yes... tea!  Must go order good-quality tea....

Ah ... News of this had not reached the Freenode side. I've been trying to make it look a little more visually interesting, more a wall of portraits rather than "just another sterile web photo gallery".

I think that would be really neat. I still have yet to come up with a photo that's a good representation of me since I got my hair cut. It's a pretty drastic change, so I didn't want to use an older one even though there are some good ones.

While under development, the new page is here (http://www.babcom.com:81/alaric/frames/). It's on port 81 because Verizon blocks incoming traffic to port 80 on residential DSL service, and we're stuck with Verizon untiul we move again because we're on an RSU to which they refuse to allow any other provider access. Once it goes "live", I'll probably move it to co.ordinate.org (http://co.ordinate.org/).

I wasn't able to access that URL, but I'm looking forward to seeing it when you're done. It's always nice to be able to associate names and faces, and you'll have some from Freenode that aren't familiar to me.
