...my ears are sufficiently plugged up to make me slightly dizzy, and they won't clear. Two pseudephedrine tablets under the tongue (ack! Foul taste!) have so far not helped. I'll try two more in a minute, but I sense an impending high-test red curry somewhere in the immediate future. About three whole habaƱeros ought to do the job, at a guess.

Pro: Works much faster than swallowing them.
Con: Pseudephedrine hydrochloride tastes terrible. (That's why they're sugar-coated.)
For reference, if you're really badly congested, an average adult can safely take four at a time and do it twice in six hours, so long as you don't exceed (iirc) 12 tablets in 24 hours. Consider that an emergency procedure, though. (It's not recommended, and you shouldn't make a regular practice of it, but you won't harm yourself by doing so only when you really need to.) I've only once had my ears so badly plugged I had to do that; my ears were hurting so badly I was seriously concerned I was going to rupture an eardrum.
