I'm scheduled to have surgery on my left foot on Tuesday, to straighten the little toe again (it's twisting and curling under the toe next to it, and is extremely painful at times), and possibly fuse it this time.  So what happens?  I just had my foot up in my lap and noticed there was blood on the big toe.  Looked closer, and found there was a split in the skin where the first abscess was, and it was bleeding.  Investigated a little further....

Yup, it's formed a new abscess.  No visible sign of infection, though; it's bleeding cleanly.  Narrow but deep, and running back into the toe and towards the bone.  I just cleaned it and dosed it with antibiotics and I'll put a dressing on it in a moment.  Looks like my Tuesday surgery may be more extensive than originally planned.

I really SO hope this doesn't screw up the Americorps stuff.  Lately it's been looking like our best shot at getting out of this hellhole.

I've missed the Americorp stuff, but my brother did that, and thought it was a really great program/experience. Good luck with that.

It just keeps coming at you, doesn't it? Major goodthoughts that tomorrow's surgery goes well, and fingers crossed as well - actually, all available digits ...
