They won't help you if you've got a cold, but Kleenex's new antiviral tissues should help prevent you from spreading it.  Kleenex claims the tissues, treated with citric acid and sodium lauryl sulfate, will kill 99.9% of cold and 'flu viruses.

Kleenex' claim pre-supposes that people will actually use their product, every time they sneeze. Not just afterwards...

...and, btw, I suspect that this treatment will make the tissues worthless for cleaning one's eyeglasses.

Oh, sure they're assuming you'll use the Kleenex. But even after sneezing will help. A surprising amount of cold/flu transmission occurs not by airborne virus transmission, but by hand contact from virii left on your skin after you wipe up from sneezing or after you blow your nose. The antiviral tissues ought to kill most of those virii.

I don't know if it'll impact cleaning your glasses, but I don't use Kleenex for that anyway. They leave too much lint, IME. I prefer a specific lint-free lens cloth or a 3M "high-performance cleaning cloth".
