Buggering smegging LJ ate my response.

Short version:

Moore puts as much spin on his lies as the right wing does on theirs. This is bad, because when we stoop to their level of discourse, we have de facto lost the whole struggle.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Moore has to be a shill for the right. I can't believe anyone could be that deluded.

[livejournal.com profile] bbwoof and I were just discussing this last night. I was being a touch intransigent about it, alas. I have never liked documentaries, to be honest, and I prefer to spend evenings out at the movies being entertained. Am I escapist? Hell, yes! I've always considered Moore a propagandist. I was raised Catholic, and I know the sins of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith (founded by Francis Xavier of the Society of Jesus) quite, quite well.

I've also just recovered from a spell of depression which inclined me to burst into tears at the slightest provocation. An evening of gloom, doom, angst and political horror sounded like the last thing my mental health needs. I agreed, reluctantly, to go along if the rest of the family wanted to see the blasted thing, but I honestly think Two Brothers sounds like a better bet, cutesy tiger cubs and all.

Perhaps these links will convince Woof to stay home and watch a nice old horror movie on DVD instead.
