C|Net reports on a new banking trojan discovered by Finjan.  It’s a sneaky one; it hijacks your own online banking sessions, uses your login to make its own transactions, conceals them from you, and decides how much to steal to maximize its owner’s profits while escaping notice for as long as possible.

Coming from that industry, it looks like it targets specific banks that expose code in their URLs or has a really stupid interface. Lots of online banking systems here will make it nearly impossible to hide transfers and will email you when your password changes to thwart just this sort of thing. I wouldn't get terribly excited about it.

If I were the German bank processor, though, I'd be awfully embarrassed right now, though. Their customers must be really steamed.

For some reason, when I first read your subject line, my first thought was:

"I wonder how you measure the IQ of a prophylactic?"

Keep in mind, I've been sick for 3 days.

That ... potential interpretation had occurred to me. ;)
