Philip Howard's TED talk on why we are drowning in laws, the damage it has done — and is continuing to do — to our society, and how to fix it.

hmm - this goes back to your later post re: lj-toys. What I saw on my friends page - your post - shows a frame with a link button in the center. Clicking on the post header brough me to your page, with the same frame and link button.

Clicking the link sends me to:

http://lj-toys.com/?auth_token=sessionless:1269651600:embedcontent:1423103%268%26:8ce8103d3e3c2460d26c9518a9c12a5f902738ba&moduleid=8&preview=&journalid=1423103

Since I also have lj-toys.com blocked, nothing useful happens.

Is this the behavior you're referring to? If it is, methinks we've our hands on some Danish lutefisk (and yes, I'm mixing metaphors, which is even smellier).

Yup, that's the URL I see. It is NOT the embed code I put in my post. The bigger problem is that even when that is resolved, what it ends up pointing to is not the video I embedded. Likewise, when I looked at Bill Gawne's actual post in his journal, it was linked to a different video than when I opened the same post on my Friends page. And I don't think it's any accident that the ... substituted video is so often that same political ad.

It could be an honest-but-stupid database code mistake of some kind. In the meantime, I think I'm going to just link, not embed, until I figure out what's going on.

(Right now, here in my journal, if I mouse over the video link I can see it's pointing to the TED talk.)
