Disney and Scholastic share a Software Hall of Shame raspberry today.

For what?  Disney Magic Artist Deluxe and Scholastic I Spy Fantasy.

Why?

Because they're both children's games — young children, as in Wendy's is giving I Spy Fantasy away in Kids' Meals — that require Administrator privileges to run.

FAIL.

Don't these people ever think before they write code?

Games seem to be particularly bad, not just in where they want to write stuff, but also in the system settings they'll clobber.

Particularly children's games. It's as though they think kids won't care when the game fucks up.

It's the way they do things like reset the screen to some archaic size and colour-depth, and then leave it there when they finally exit, as if everyone should use 800x600 or whatever...
