No, I'm not channelling Terry Pratchett.  This Thud had an Ouch after it.  I was up unable to sleep last night, and on my way to the kitchen for a glass of milk I ran my left¹ foot into the Dyson vacuum cleaner in the dark, stumbled, and proceeded to smack my face hard on the top of the handle, ripping the inside of my upper lip open on my teeth.

We use LED nightlights a few places, mostly downstairs for the kids, but we have one (set to red) in our windowless dressing room, through which one must pass to get to our bathroom from the bedroom.

I know pretty much where everything's SUPPOSED to be; I'd have been fine if I hadn't run into the Dyson where I didn't expect it. (And, to be fair, if I hadn't had desk lights on for the previous hour and a half or so de-adapting my night vision.)
