... but I'll say this for him, the man gives a pretty rousing inaugural address.

I just hope that he lives up to this — and that Congress lets him live up to it.

*shrug* He's good at delivering a prepared speech.

The content of it, of course, was as empty as usual for him.

/better than the poem, tho...

I think [livejournal.com profile] eleri said it best (http://eleri.livejournal.com/1427539.html). He's been handed a shovel and the key to the Augean Stables. He knows it, and he's careful to keep expectations reasonable.

He is a gifted orator. For him, the speech was only so-so. He has a HUGE chance to get a lot of it enacted with the bailout money. The biggest question is, how long until his constituents demand results from their vote?

I thought the bailout money was all gone into bankers' pockets already...?

That was the FIRST bailout. The one already passed for $700 Billion.

I am talking about the SECOND bailout, in front of congress right now. Estimates are somewhere over $825 Billion. There is lots of room in $900 Billion to put priorities, that will get overlooked. I just wish they could slip in an extra $10 Billion for NASA.

Throwing money at NASA won't fix it, it'll only make its problems worse.

So I wonder when the government just starts printing money day and night to fund all this?
