WASHINGTON (AP) -- A federal task force that spent nearly a year wrestling with ways to assist people delayed for hours aboard planes parked on tarmacs has finalized its recommendations — none of which requires airlines and airports to do anything.

That second quoted paragraph pretty much says it all, doesn't it...?

Frankly, I won't fly commercial airlines unless I absolutely have to. I don't need to spend that kind of money to be treated like a criminal, crammed into an uncomfortably cramped cattle-class seat, then given two pretzels and told it's a meal.

the pretzels are optional now and cost $1 each.

at least the water and soda was free last time.

last time as well, security was fast and painless for the most part.

the most annoying thing was the nearly constant announcements about color levels, security, watch out for bad guys, and tell someone in authority... except while INSIDE the security zone, there are no obvious security people. nobody TO tell.
