I think this is correct.  I'm reasonably certain that when I drove east in 2005, when leaving Utah I passed through Colorado then swung north into Nebraska, going through Lincoln, rather than continuing east through Kansas and Missouri.  I'm reasonably sure I did not ever actually enter Michigan.  However, I'm not 100% certain whether in 2002, we passed through the southern portion of Arkansas or the northern part of Louisiana.

I'm only counting states I can actually remember being in. We lived in MA when I was 4, I can remember that, but if we went anywhere surrounding it, I don't recall.

I can definitely remember that I must have passed through the Carolinas on 95, when we went to Disney World when I was a kid. I can recall being in FL, but not most of the drive.
