How many times have you looked at a product listing on a web store site, and wished you could see a bit more detail?  But, aha!, there's a link below the product photo that says "Larger photo".  So you click the link ...

... and up pops a window with the exact same photo, the exact same size, just with more whitespace around it.

NOT USEFUL!

Web retailers:  If you don't have a larger photo, don't pretend you do.  All it does is piss off customers, who — even if they still buy the product — will now probably do their best to buy it somewhere ELSE.

I suspect that the problem has more to do with unyielding web site configurations than web retailers being clueless. My thought is that the web software is purchased, not internally developed.

Da. And I hate it when the bigger picture of the thumbnail is still only 320x240. If I click to get a bigger picture of something I'm thinking about buying off the web, give me at least 1280x1024, if not more.

I tell them that if I can. "Why should I deal with a company that will not properly display it's products. I want a reasonably full sized picture of the product from several angles. If you're so thread bare and paranoid about bandwidth or are to lazy, poorly staffed or incompetent to do this then your price means NOTHING to me as I will expect you to botch my order as well"

Yea it's a hot button and I love pissing someone there off.

Add to that out-of-focus photographs. Blurry photographs.

Sure, I'm going to purchase your product, the out-of-focus, blurred from shake thingbat.

And thanks, I really get off on crappy photos.
