It seems at Rushe Middle School in Pasco County, Florida, they still believe in witchcraft, and it's a firing offense.

I just don't know what to say.  Teh STUPID!  IT BURNS!

Eh, I'm not sure I buy it. The only opinion offered is that of the teacher, and he's surely not going to admit that he can't control a classroom.

I wonder if this should be filed next to the story from last week, where two honors students were suspended for buying some cheap trinket swords they were going to have shipped home from England on a choral trip. (Seriously, the biggest lapse in judgement was buying cheap Bud-K sorts of schlock that they could just have easily gotten closer to home, but I won't go there.) This brought to you by "0-tolerance weapons policies." Personally, I don't even consider a 3-for $60 including stand "samurai sword" set even a weapon, but there you go.

BTW, I'm a Cris Angel fan, and you'd be amazed how many people think he's a Satanist in league with the devil, because he obviously couldn't do his tricks without supernatural intervention...

There are a lot of very sharp people out there. The unfortunate corollary is that there are also a lot of depressingly stupid people out there.
