The good news:  My foot seems to be progressing well.  With the bone chip and the internal pin gone, the former abscess has now turned into just a sort of a deep split which is gradually closing.  I can walk on it pretty close to normally, as long as I have shoes on, though I still can't manage to be on my feet for very long at a time and it's very difficult to squat or bend over.  I'm also able to keep a shoe on my left foot much longer -- I kept my shoes on all day Tuesday, from about 7am until after 9pm, which is the first time I've been able to do that since the accident, almost five years ago now.  (March 10 will be the fifth anniversary of Splat Day.)

The bad news:  As yesterday's snow melts off, this spam-can's roof is leaking again.  Walter swore he sealed the roof after the last time, but our eldest daughter (Goose, online) just told me that the roof is leaking over her bed and water was dripping on her last night.  Of course, the leaking roof means that the fiberboard ceiling stuff is constantly damp, and is growing all kinds of mold . . . sick building syndrome, anyone?  At the very least, this means we need to reorganise the girls' room to get the bunk beds out from under where the roof is leaking.

Congratulations on the continued healing of your foot. Sorry about the roof leak.

Continued good wishes.

Good to hear, bad to hear. Hope you can get out of that festering hole soon.
