The Baltimore Sun reports that yesterday's storm made this the snowiest December in record in New Hampshire, with 44.5" of total snow reported at Concord, NH. The previous recordholder was 1876, with 43" of snow. And it snows on, with 3"-6" more expected today and a severe weather alert in New Hampshire. An AP article reports that Burlington, VT received 45.7 inches of snow, almost triple its 17.2" December average, and Portland, Maine made third place in Maine show records with 37.7" of accumulation.
(The same AP article also mentions that NH has already spent $30 million on snow removal, out of $75 million budgeted for the entire winter.)
