Followup on the bone chip

The abscess is looking much better since getting the bone chip out of it the other day.  It's visibly narrower than two days ago, and all pink and healthy-looking in there now, instead of red and bloody and sort of macerated.  My money's on it just closing right up now.

Had you had either x-rays or an MRI? It's surprising that a bone chip didn't show up.

Multiple X-rays were taken, but with so many bones there and my foot full of pins, it evidently didn't show up. It's also possible that it was just cracked and didn't actually start working its way out until recently.

I most certainly hope so. Once the abscess finishes healing, I can start running and getting some regular exercise, and hopefully shed the 10-15 or so extra pounds I've picked up while on the bench.
