We likely won't know anything for 2-3 weeks, but I think the interview went well.  I also think it looks like probably being a good company to work for, and I'm pretty sure I can get along with the people.  It's a very small company, 15 people at present.  Salary range is in the $60k-$70k range, full benefits, profit sharing, 25% company-matched 401K, and no worthless stock options.

The area is about 20 minutes north of the DC beltway, probably about the same distance from the VA border, and would be a very practical commute from Sterling VA if there was a direct route -- but unfortunately there isn't one that I know of.  There's this small matter of absence of a bridge.  I'd much sooner live in VA than in MD, given the choice, but I don't think it'd be very practical.

We've actually located some highly prospective-looking townhouses in Rockville. Between $1600 and $1700 a month, and the listing says 1400 or 1550 square feet, but I deciphered the dimensions on the too-small floorplan as best I could and did the math, and it looks like around 2050 or 2300 to me. They're three-story townhouses, and as best I can figure, the listed floor space does not include the basement level, which is a third of the total space.

Can you say, "server room downstairs"? Sure, I knew you could. There's room down there to rack the servers and set up the workbenches and have a designated office area, which would mean we wouldn't need to use a bedroom as an office, which would mean the third bedroom could become a designated playroom and we could ban loose toys from the rest of the house.

'Course, the 1600-or-so square foot place with the garage is tempting too, but I think that's more expensive.

Side note: I wish property management companies that publish their floorplans online would publish'em large enough that things like room dimensions and details aren't an illegibly tiny blotch of pixels. "Is that a 3 or a 2?" I'm not sure, it looks like a question mark to me..."
