Electric vehicles still getting faster

This electric drag-bike, powered by lithium-ion batteries, makes 350HP, does 0-60 in one second, and runs an 8.2-second quarter-mile at over 155mph.

At left, the record-breaking 155mph run. At right, reportedly an even faster 8.16-second run, though you don't get to see the board. (No, I have no clue what the cameraman was doing either.)

Somehow the video links got scrambled, but skreidle caught the error.  Fixed now.

Yeah, but it can do it seven times on a single charge! That's almost two miles! ;)

Really, that's the only limitation. Electric motors have proved themselves in all kinds of intense applications like diesel-electric and nuclear-electric power trains.

If I were president, developing high-density energy technology would be high on my list.
