An interesting question:  Would a nanotech Analytical Engine be EMP-hard?

Depends on whether the metal pathways in the thing were resistant to contact-welding from induced current overload.

Yeah, that's about what I was thinking. As long as the surge currents aren't big enough to contact-weld anything, one would hope it ought to keep working.

If we were at the Diamond Age level of nanotech. I'd imagine diamonds to be pretty EMP resistant.

Well, as emp is proportional to circuit length, so at a sub millimeter lengths, I'd expect little or no effect.
