We just lost power.  Probably means a power line is down.  Running on the UPS right now.  Shutting down all systems until the power comes back.

*hugs* for when you make it back on line.
And you are now one of 100s of thousands if not millions by now.
And friends have pipes freezing here in "Sunny" California, so we're aren't immune to this crazy weather either.

The last report from PSNH last night, shortly before our power came back on, said PSNH had 24,000 customers in New Hampshire without power, that they had extra power crews coming in from Connecticut to help repair the ice damage, and that they expected repairs to continue through Tuesday and into Tuesday night. A PSNH truck went up and down Wire Road about four times checking the lines before the power came back on.

Ice storms aren't much fun - esp. when one loses power. The last one I've experienced, power was out nearly 24 hours.

I wish you 'luck' - perhaps the outage will be short-lived.

Yup, we got power back after about 7 hours, though I didn't bring all the machines back up until this morning.

At least you still had Internet to post this...
I'm more than marginally annoyed at my ISP here.
My usual tack for power failures, is to shut down my main gear, and leave just the wireless AP up (it has my secondary WAN link) - since that barely draws any power at all (8h+ on the UPS). Then haul out the laptop (2h+ of battery, 4h if I really stretch it). But lately the ISP's end seems to have almost no UPS life :-( somewhere along the line. I'm sure their head-end is still up, but somewhere between them and me, the power ain't keeping things going for very long.

Ironically, I was in the middle of configuring my AP when the power went out. At a pinch, we could have gotten by with just yama and nijo running, plus the DSL bridge and the WRT54G. No point when the WRT's not fully configured though. (I just put dd-wrt on it Sunday night.)

(yama is the firewall/router, nijo is the primary nameserver)
