A literary observation

I observe that Steven Brust, when writing in the persona of Vlad Taltos, has a quite memorable way of dropping offhand comments that, taken in context, make you want to laugh, choke and wince all at the same time.

back in the day, worked at Minnesota Ren Fest with him - and we had several mutual friends whom I met him through.
very nice man - VERY intelligent - extremely witty - and a damnfine musician too

He's very good in that series but I've not been about to enjoy his other books. I've not really looked and *any* of my favorite authors recently, it's hard to explain but reading is hard to do now.
