Freecycle is an organization formed around the idea that if you have a perfectly good item that you no longer want, but it isn't worth your trouble or time to sell it, then it's better to give it away than throw it away.  Most Freecycle groups, you just join and that's it.

Nashua Freecycle, though, requires an extra step:  you are required to submit, along with your subscription request, a written explanation to the moderator of why you want to join.  Um, hello?  "Freecycle list."  Do we grasp this concept?  Why do you THINK I want to join?

"Uh, everyone is doing it and it's a great place to meet horny MILFs."

Not!

This makes about as much sense as having to fill out an application at the door of a fast-food restaurant stating why you want to be allowed in.

"HUNGRY!!!  DUH!!!"

I would have commented to that effect, except there's a 200-character limit on the "why I want to join" box.

If it is a yahoo group that explains it. That is the default title for the comment box. My local freecycle makes you list you address. Mostly I think to keep it local and make sure you actually read the group description.

They also warn you that wanted posts should be less than once a month.
