[livejournal.com profile] shadowcat48li posted this movie meme.  The instructions say that if you have seen more than 70 of the listed movies all the way through, you have no life.

I scored exactly 35.  Does this mean I have a half-life?

I have Half-Life. I also have Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One. Does that mean I have 1.5 lives?

That's one-sixth of a cat. :)

23, I think my geek cred was just reduced.

35, but probably different 35 from you.

And I ain't telling!

37. So does that mean I have more or less of a life than you?

I don't think I'm in a mental state to make that call right now. Except that you appear to be radioactive too.

Hm. I've seen 50. Out of the somewhat odd total of 109. So I guess I have 59/109=about 54% of a life.

Seriously wondering what criteria were used to pick these movies, though.

Criteria? I'm guessing the original poster's criterion was "All the movies I can think of offhand", or maybe "All the movies I can remember having seen".
Wednesday, November 1st, 2006 03:37 pm (UTC)
If that's all the movies they can think of offhand, they didn't think for very long. I could sit and list movies for hours and hours.

And if it's all the movies they've seen, then I hope they're quite young. Otherwise, they have too much of a life. I mean, I'm reasonably sure that if I composed such a list I'd be into four digits.

Well? Why don't you? :-)

Lack of the prodigious free time required? :)

A little time spent thinking about this over lunch indicates that I overstated a little; I've probably only seen about 800 movies in my life...
Wednesday, November 1st, 2006 06:51 pm (UTC)
Uhh...

I've seen 95 of them. I don't think my having much of a life has ever been in question.

I don't think it really has much bearing. I was just amused by the half-life. Now I can decay as well as falling apart bit by bit.
Thursday, November 2nd, 2006 12:13 am (UTC)
I just slid in with 69 movies so I have a life. OK honestly I've on'y seen 53.
Thursday, November 2nd, 2006 01:00 am (UTC)
I really don't think life can be measured in movies you've seen or haven't out of that set. And if it's any set, well, I've seen hundreds; I have my own copies of hundreds. I was just amused by the half-life.

i've never even heard of over 1/2 of them! and there were no monty python movies listed, WTF is up with that?
Wednesday, November 8th, 2006 12:30 pm (UTC)
Note I didn't bother actually perpetuating it. :) I was just amused that I'd seen exactly half the "you have no life" margin.
Thursday, November 9th, 2006 05:03 am (UTC)
i saw that! hmm, either i have more then a half life, or i'm out of touch with the mainstream media. considering that i chucked my television in '94, whatcha think?
