Question:
What do you do when you come across a set of badly-corroded engine cases for a 1919 Excelsior-Henderson motorcycle?
Answer:
You fabricate the entire rest of the motorcycle from scratch, of course.
Found on NEDoD.

Well, duh.... Can't let 'em go to waste and what else are ya gonna do?
NAttering from an overstressed guy with too little sleep...
Minds me of many things... but I will pick one, so:
Here in Thailand, skilled labor is seriously cheap.
A buddy found a 1948 Peugeot Fastback that he liked, but it was, uh... too far gone. Frame completely rotted out, body front collapsing. He also found a 1959 Station wagon, in pretty good shape, including having been upgraded to a 3 liter Toyota 6 engine.
Take both cars to body shop. Trim Wagon chassis by two five inch segments. Cut off wagon and remove body behind front doors. Graft on back of sedan. Change shape of fastback to be a little more '48 Buickish, with slightly Hudsony windows. Stay with metal artist till he gets it the precise shape desired.
Add nice custom paint and interior. Rebuild engine and add four wheel discs, power steering, AC and the rest of the modern underpinnings.
Total cost including purchase of original cars? $15, 800 US.
