Today's definition of "irritating":  Going over to the elementary school, in severe knee pain, to pick up your kid from her field trip only to learn that the bus has been delayed an hour to an hour and a half by traffic congestion behind an accident en-route.

Today's definition of "bloody alarming":  As you get the other kids back in the car and go to pull out of the handicapped slot, seeing some hausfrau with a carload of her kids driving through the school parking lot, both hands off the wheel and looking down into her lap, because she's too busy stuffing her face (yeah, with both hands) to put her hands on the goddamn wheel and look where she's going.

(This will also serve as today's definition of "There's never a cop there when you need one.")

There was a cop today. I-495 was backed up from Hudson to Littleton and some idiot in a minivan with a stethscope on the rear view mirror and wearing scrubs was driving down the breakdown lane. Trooper was hidden in front of the semi off the side of the highway. Pulled the guy over and had him out of the minivan and was patting him down.

Course the trooper wasn't there for the 7 other idiots further up the highway. Except the one who pulled over the 5 gazebos.
