The creator of cubicles, Robert Propst of Herman Miller, never envisualized Dilbertian cube farms by the acre when he invented the Action Office in 1968. But thanks to economics, Propst's invention went wrong, imprisoning the office workers it was intended to liberate. Now, in an ironic turnaround, the same economics that spawned Dilbertville may finally set people free from it.
