Yesterday, I shovelled out our front walk three times, shovelled the sidewalk across the front of our row of 6 townhouses, shovelled away the ridge of snow the first pass of the snowploughs left in front of the Intrepid so that we could move it so they could plough the whole parking lot, similarly shovelled out our neighbor's car and about three other people's cars.

I think I overdid it, and I think this has combined with the continuing deterioration of my knees in a synergistic manner.  Today, I can hardly walk.  Climbing stairs hurts.  Just going up and down the front steps is hard.  Even just sitting still in my chair, my knees hurt.

This is a very bad day.  I predict ENOSPOONS.

Under normal circumstances, there would be a clever and witty response here. unfortunately, today I'm just too beat and thrashed to think one up. The missing response may be released as a patch later when it becomes available.

This is why I will never live where it snows more than negligably. You were in ever-sunny California and you left. OK. Then you were in NC - it snows some in the mountains but is generally temperate. Now you're in New Hampshire.
I mean, if you're trying to get back to the latitude of the UK, you really need a longitude shift to go with it. The East Coast of the US is not an island. :)

Parts of it are islands! :)

Martha's Vineyard, for one ... and is Rhode Island actually an island? And if we demolished New York and New Jersey, the whole of New England would be an island. It'd be OK if some litterbug hadn't dumped his unwanted states right there.

ever-sunny California

Now that's where you are wrong. Winter in California means rain. And more rain, and then some more rain from about Novemeber to March.

I mean, if you're trying to get back to the latitude of the UK

I think what he's trying to do is get back to the early United States right after the Constitution was adopted but keeping the ameninties offered by the 21st Century. MMORPG, fast computers, broadband, and foodstuffs from all over the world.
