Go read.  I think it's up your alley.  (The main body of print would have to be small, though.)

That's pretty cool.

I'm curious, though. Do people prefer:

having someone front the money to make an actual print run, which means getting in an order before the deadline, dealing with shipping if you're not local, having someone willing to front the money, etc.

OR

someone doing the design work, but having the actual printing (and optionally maintaining inventory) done by someone else, allowing people to order whenever they want (from single item order to bulk order for the above type of distribution), which means having slightly higher prices (or, well, prices at all) to cover someone else's overhead, less control over the printing process, etc.

I've been trying the second model via Cafepress, with only limited success (although publication's been rather limited to "posts in my LJ"). Pretty much, for me, it comes down to "I can spare a couple hours to make up a design, but I can't spare the time or money to deal directly with a printer or print myself".

I usually do the first, because I have a screenprinter I like dealing with, and can usually front the cash.

I know what you do, I was trying to get opinions from other people ... y'know, consumers. ;)
