BB&T's eminent domain policy

"BB&T Corporation today [yesterday, now] said it will not lend to commercial developers that plan to build condominiums, shopping malls and other private projects on land taken from private citizens by government entities using eminent domain."

Using the threat of eminent domain, the city and Edens & Avant fought it out with Mrs. Lowman, pushing her off her property and out of the way of the new BB&T bank building.

I want to believe it, too. But I'm skeptical.

caveat that I am minded like an ogre and a bit cynical, but if it's true, more power to them. I'd love to see more of that.
