Emerging from the pain

Capsule summary:  My head still hurts, but this is the first day since last Tuesday that I've been more or less functional.  I can now spend a couple of hours in front of a monitor before having to retreat back to the darkness to rest my aching eyes and head.  The Demerol and Vistaril combination my doctor prescribed was basically completely ineffective; the best I can say of it is that the Vistaril mostly controlled the nausea resulting from the Demerol.  Next time I see him, I will be asking for a prescription for Maxalt-MLT, which by all accounts is the most effective anti-migraine medication out there.

I suspect an eye checkup would probably be a good idea, too, but I need to verify first whether or not we have vision coverage at the moment.

As it happens, there was a period during which the headache was partially distracting me from the foot, and the foot was partially distracting me from the headache. ;)

Unfortunately, this did NOT add up to "100% distracted from both" .....
