New Scientist reports, "99.1% of Taiwanese are at risk of dying from one hazard or another."

This breathless and ill-thought-out headline begs the obvious question:  What amazing secret of immortality do the other 0.9% possess....?

No, but it is clearly lacking in Taiwanese hazards. Also, see "death by boredom", below! :-)

Nonono... clearly the other .9% die from non-hazardous situations or methods...

Death by boredom
Death by fuzzy kittens (see boredom above)
Death by redtape (not a hazard, just a nuisance)
Death by safety device (oddly, non-hazardous in one respect, but clearly hazardous in another...)

:)

Unless, of course, it's your desired outcome - then it's not hazardous, it's beneficial!
