At what point do we admit that legalistic and so-called democratic methods are not working? At what point do we stop with the cartoons and start with the Bunker Hills?
The followup panel to that top segment is Yorktown. What's the followup panel to the bottom segment?
All I can say is that we're not there yet. I suspect that were this 1774, and were we all the same quality of people that were there in 1774, there would shortly be an answer to that question, if there hadn't alreayd been one.
Now? I don't know. The massive bungling and rights abuses in this may be enough to be a trigger point even in this lazy, complacent America of beer, pizza and Monday Night Football (or beer, pizza and the latest Paris Hilton DVD), bread and circuses by any other name, and then again it may not. I think it's going to be a while yet before the vast majority of the population really understands that just turning around and voting for the other gang of stupid, greedy, ignorant, venal, corrupt career politicians is NOT a solution, nor necessarily even an improvement.
