NOLA medical airlift comes through

You know, it's guys like this who keep things running.  Natural disasters strike, everything falls apart, chaos is the order of the day, sometimes compounded by appallingly incompetent bureaucratic response, and then a bunch of guys like this just call into work and say, "Sorry, I can't come into work today, and maybe not any day this week.  I have to go fly medevac."

i still take offense at the word refugee being used to describe AMERICAN CITIZENS who survived a disaster!

Out of curiosity ... why? They've lost their homes. They're seeking refuge, somewhere, anywhere. One could call the ones who've already been picked up evacuees, but then what do you call the ones who haven't been evacuated yet?

victims or survivors, refugee conjures up images of boat people type immigration.
