There is something rotten in the state of Ozzfest, or so it is reported ... and according to the reports, it's Ozzy.  This account describes one of the most shameful examples of public behavior I've ever heard of on behalf of any musical artist.

The Osbournes picked the wrong band to try to fuck with, though .... they picked on Iron Maiden.

I knew Ozzy was frelling pscyho when he first came out, and refused to have anything to do with him or anyone who was a hardcore fan.

From the sound of it, Iron Maiden performed the show of their lives, just to show Ozzy they are better than he is... and Ozzy just shot whatever credibility he ever had.

Yeah. By this account, the harder the Ozzy clique pushed them, the harder Iron Maiden bounced back. The Osbournes sold out, plain and simple. It turns out Sharon Osbourne subsequently copped to pulling the plug on Iron Maiden's amps (http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=1851802005); on a pathetically lame excuse.

That said, Ozzy used to be a serious rocker, and back then, a lot of his on-stage lunacy was play-acting to maintain the persona his fans expected of him.

Wow. That is really asinine.

Aside from my opinion that Maiden is one of the three best metal bands of all time, it's just plain dumb to do to an event of that scale.
