You're not familiar with the term "rice racers" used to describe little import cars, usually Japanese, made into rolling eyesores with the addition of ludicrously huge fenders, rear wings that require them to carefully heed bridge clearance signs, screaming paint jobs, wall-to-wall decals, gratuitous kanji placed at random on the car, and/or sewer-pipe-sized tailpipe tips that sound like a flatulent cow?
(Oh yes, and don't forget that classic ricer gambit, lowering the car's suspension until it high-centers on supermarket-parking-lot speed bumps.)

Uhm, no. I'm familiar with the pejorative term "rice burner" for Japanese imports, but not only am I not familiar with the term "rice racer", I'm not even familiar with the phenomenon to which it refers. Maybe it's a California thing... ?

I thought it was pretty ubiquitous, but I don't doubt it's more prevalent in California. If it's not an Atlanta thing, be grateful -- some of these things are hideous beyond words, and the usually-late-teens-toearly-20s drivers are frequently complete idiots.

(Well, that is, you'd have to be an idiot to drive one of these things, at least without taking steps to conceal your identity or realizing how embarrassingly ludicrous the thing looked ... but I mean beyond that.)
