"It's so terrible that this war has caused so much death and destruction!"

"I guess that's what happens when you fire cannonballs back and forth for days on end."

It went straight over Goose's head....

It was just the sardonic response that amused me. Goose couldn't understand what I was laughing at because, well, her sense of humor is not subtle.
