Getting off lightly

cymrullewes was just rear-ended, driving my Mercedes, on the Rte 3 overpass from I-495 in Massachusetts.  She was hit while stopped at a red light by a newly-licensed Canadian driver.  The other driver was insured, neither person was injured, and damage to the car sounds minor, though we'll want to get it properly inspected to be sure.

Update:  Visible damage is restricted to the bumper skin and the rear corner of the left fender panel.  Should be easily repaired, probably without having to pull any body panels.

As I told the person in the accident I saw last week - she should get checked out soon, even if she doesn't feel injured now. Back injuries don't necessarily show up immediately, and the sooner she goes to the doctor, the more luck she'll have if you need to make an insurance claim.

It was apparently minor enough that she heard it almost more than felt it. The other driver apparently left it too late to stop, tried to make a last-second lane change, and came a few inches short of making it.

Very glad she is fine and damage is minor.

But it just goes to show that the *little black cloud* is still alive and well, over the NE. :-( It hit locally, over the holiday... It hit a friend in MA, yesterday... Now I see it hit in NH, too. Wheeee....

*sigh* Isn't it time to move on now.... *little black cloud*? :-(
