It started out with tww1fa mentioning this article about Russia's most prolific spammer being found bludgeoned to death in his Moscow apartment. I mentioned this in Bitmines on ICB, and the following conversation ensued (edited to remove intervening irrelevancies):
<Apophys> they're going after the second fattest next? <womble> I'd prefer to see legal means, not violence <Alaric> well, apparently the problem is, in Russia spamming isn't illegal. <Alaric> "In Russia, spam sends you." <felix> it isn't illegal in the u.s. either <pef> that's why vigilante justice is needed. <womble> I don't mourn him but it's no way to run a society <Alaric> agreed. <Alaric> I mean, this kind of thing ought to be properly run, tickets sold, that sort of <Alaric> thing. And lions. There should be lions. [=Sign-on=] toast (toast@dsl092-000-121.sfo1.dsl.speakeasy.net) entered group <toast> I AM TOAST. HEAR ME ROAR! <Alaric> oi toast. Funny you should say that right then. ;) <Apophys> clearly, a case of synchronicitoast
It's all about the timing. :)
