So ... I've now responded to two of these lists posted by online friends, ariyanakylstram and
ilcylic. According to Damon Knight's Rule Golden, what you do unto others shall be done unto you. That being the case, it's only fair I now put up the same list myself and take my lumps.

I just ran across a very sound insight thrown away as an aside in the epilogue of a Christopher Stasheff novel, something a lot of workplaces could maybe stand to keep in mind:
"It's better to be not here, than to be not all here."
First, the bad news:
I'm exhausted, and my knees are about ready to buckle under me. I could hardly make it up the three steps to the front deck, coming in from the car.
Now, the good news:
I made it around Home Depot, Sam's Club and Lowes Foods, and although my foot gave me a few pretty sharp twinges, it's really not hurting that much.
I'm awful glad to get my left shoe off, though.
Spirit is reported to be back to full functionality, after much less than the expected four to six weeks.
