fruitylips found this AP report of a Clovis, NM school locked down for two hours, with police snipers on the rooftops, because a student brought a thirty-inch steak burrito to school as part of an extra-credit assignment.

This is, of course, utterly ridiculous.

Now if, on the other hand, it had been a thirty-inch BEAN burrito ......

You know, reading your post, I got to "thirty-inch steak..." and my brain automatically filled in "knife."
Honest. Then I stopped and thought, "Who makes a thirty-inch steak knife? That's stupid."
Then I read it again and thought, "No, I'm still misreading it. Have to be."
Burrito. A burrito.
Though, i must say, I like the comment about a restaurant that "specializes in unusually large burritos."

Chicos in NC has large burritos. But not in the 30 inch long range. Only 10 inches long by 3 inches wide by 2 inches tall.

They call them Hungry Pirates (the local university, as in across the street, is East Carolina University, home of the Pirates.) Pretty good too.
