Given that the NASA job appears to have gone *poof* like so many others, I'm developing a theory that, in fact, any job I apply for will go *poof*, and that I, by way of my numerous job applications, am singlehandedly responsible for the recession.  [livejournal.com profile] koyote suggests that I could develop a new business model based on this theory, making money by getting people to pay me not to apply for jobs.  He might just have something there.

You should apply for president.

Sorry about the RH weirdness. *sigh* They got so many company's attention by promising support, and now they're yanking the rug.

I hope the next one goes better.

Uh, president of what?

Can't become president of the US ... you have to be born in the US.

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

I don't think it specifies that the natural-born citizen must be born within the physical confines of the US.

Amazing what a well-placed comma will do to a statement, nu?

True, technically, but I'm pretty certain you won't find a constitutional scholar or lawyer in the country who won't agree that that's intended to be read "a natural born citizen [of the United States]," i.e, someone who was born a US Citizen.

Besides, frankly, I don't think I'd want the job. Frustration at being unable to fix all the brokennesses in the system would probably kill me.

I think we're arguing the same thing: the office of president requires that the individual be a natural born citizen. As far as I know, though, if your parents are US citizens when you're born, you're a US citizen yourself, wherever that birth took place.

Mind you, I'm not arguing for you to take the job, just niggling over the details of who would be eligible.

True, that applies too IIRC.

Either way, I'm still not eligible. :)

Uhm, do we really want the job of President of the US to go away? I shudder to think what would take its place. Now president of M$ or RH... those are different stories. But hey, 6 is working for M$ so it should fold soon.... *evilgrin*
