But mostly packed. The kitchen's all done, the bedroom's all done but for the bedding, and the living room's pretty much all done except for the computers. I've reinstalled the original cheap-ass showerhead and packed my nice Water Pik (OW, standing on the edge of the bathtub to get a straight shot at the pipe hurt like fuck), and cleaned the bathroom and kitchen including the refrigerator. I defy the management here to look at that kitchen and tell me with a straight face that it isn't spotlessly clean. In fact, the cupboard under the sink is cleaner than when I moved in; there was still dirt in the corners then. (And the sink has a working plug and strainer, which it didn't when I moved in.)
I have one gigantic Sun monitor box to throw out (it won't fit in the car except broken down anyway; I was only saving it in case I decided to ship the 21" Sun monitor ahead), three computers [yama, nijo, vorlon] to take down and pack, the bed to strip tomorrow, and the freezer to empty (also tomorrow). All the non-perishable foods are packed; the dry foods and cans will probably have to get shipped, as the box is fairly light, but the box of bottles and jars will go in the car. I'm all but certain I'm going to need to ship a couple more boxes to make room in the car. This does, of course, mean there's little point in trying to load much of anything tonight.
What I can do, though, is get most of the network shut down. I'll be keeping the laptop out for now, and switching the DSL connection over to it until I leave tomorrow, but taking all the other computers down tonight. I may take the Suns down to the car and trial-fit them and vorlon's box. (Yeah, it's a nice shiny new case, and I'm going to pack it in its box if I have room... and the heatsink is being removed and packed separately.) The power and my DSL connection get shut off on Wednesday; Speakeasy is suspending my DSL service, but keeping my account and email active and giving me dialup access free of charge until we have an address to order a new line install.
Once I hit the road, I may be able to get access for nightly updates, but I may be just making phone posts. We'll see how it goes. I certainly plan to make periodic phone progress reports during the day, even if it's only "1125 local time, now entering Utah."
