Alias just had an episode where they accidentally killed someone and then dug his eyeballs out to use on the retinal scanner.

Same plot-line in a Zahn book ages ago. (They threatened to cut off a guys head if he didn't cooperate.)

Oh, the idea's been used in lots of books, with varying degrees of blood involved. It was only a matter of time before it was applied in practice.
